When I made the first of these paintings I loved the challenge of working with my chosen color palette so much that I kept reaching for more canvases and began walking around my backyard looking for more snowy shadows to paint. The amount of color I found in snowy shadows, even just walking to my mailbox and back, can be quite overwhelming in the best I-need-to-paint-all-the-snow kind of way.
